The Annual Silent Auction

by Bob Wilcox

This month we have our famous "Silent Auction". This is a golden opportunity to pick up items at attractive prices. It is also an opportunity to divest yourself of those items no longer compatible with your collection and at the same time contribute to the financial stability of the society. To state it simply, we need materials to auction and would like members to help out by bringing in anything they think would be appropriate. Contributors should write a very short description of the item on the forms that will be available at the meeting.

The form will be displayed with the item to be auctioned. Members who wish to bid, will put their name on the form and the amount they wish to bid. The amount must be greater than the previous bidders amount by at least 50 cents.

Plants, pots, tools, books, pictures, are among the items available. Tickets for private 3-hour workshops by senior members will also be available, at $1 a ticket. The type of workshop will be at the winners discretionãwinners will be drawn sometime after 9:00 pm. Valuable auction items will have a minimum bid noted on the bid sheet. This auction is a chance for all society member to have fun, socialize, and help with our fundraiser. Snacks and drinks are free.
