GENERAL MEETING - Overwintering Temperate Trees, the Winnipeg Way

TOPIC

Overwintering Temperate Trees, the Winnipeg Way

The growing season goes by so fast in the GTA, we often wish we had more time. In Winnipeg, the growing season is even shorter, the winters longer and harsher. Despite the lack of an extended summer, members of the Winnipeg Bonsai Society grow temperate trees including trident maples and Chinese elms – the most difficult category of trees to overwinter – in a way that they can not only survive, but also thrive. They will talk in detail about their process and why it works for their various growing conditions. Condo dwellers and home owners will find this session informative.
